Substrates on contemporary homes are often sided with manufactured products such as Hardi-Plank, Pressure treated trim,T-111 siding, stucco, etc. It is critical these surfaces are properly protected from the elements.
Issues such as separated and cracked caulking on joints, swelling and fissures in t-11 from moisture intrusion, cracks and mildew growth on stucco can all be addressed by a qualified Painter using the right products for the job. For instance, XIM Company has a product called Peel Bond. This product is almost like a paste out of the can but dries clear and forms a nice thick elastic membrane over the cracked siding. It also helps keep any loosely adhered coatings from peeling on the edges. Keeping moisture out of the laminated siding is critical if you would like to avoid replacing it.
